GUIDE QUESTIONS:

  • based on my own understanding, the protagonist felt inloved with the girl but he also felt affection, regret and guilty because he realize that there is something wrong on what he feels to the girl.

  • The girl is not happy because there is a regret on her mind on that day when the merchant visited on their place.

3. How did you feel when you were reading the text? Do you think what they were experiencing was love or lust?

  • I feel  happy but also disappointed. Happy because they choose to love even they are both in a far places but sad because they didn't understand each other in terms of communication. I think it is just a lust there is a love affair in the story and love affair means a romantic and sexual relationship between two people who are not married to each other.

  • the cup symbolize the age and floor for new discoveries or exploration.
7. What is the significance of the glances between Herve and the girl?

  • since they did not understand each other, little actions serve as the primary means of reaching out to each other. Some things can be understood with just a little smile or a simple glance.
8. Do you find the text romantic? Why or why not?

  • yes because it talks about the romantic love between Herve and the Girl.

  • I learned that we need to study language very well especially english because it plays a vital role in our life even in love so that we will avoid misunderstanding.

Title: Mayon

Author:
  • Name: Kristian Sendon Cordero
  • Picture:

Short Background:

Setting:Tectonically, Mayon is located in the Bicol Basin (Oas Graben), a northwest trending structural depression. Structural analysis of previous study reveals a regional transtensional stress regime in the Bicol basin, which induced the northwest striking leftlateral faults to have a normal slip component (Lagmay et al., 2005). The Oas Graben bounded by Legaspi Lineament to the north and San Vicente Linao Fault to the south. The Legazpi Lineament (N70oW) is seismically active and is a left-lateral fault with a normal component to the east (Le Rouzic, 1999). GPS data analysis (Rangin et al., 1999) derived a left-lateral motion of 13 mm/yr along the Legaspi Fault with 13 mm/yr of extension perpendicular to it.
